IMPACT OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE ON JOBS

      In the 21st century the whole world is within the grasp of the modern technology. Even if we are sitting in our home or we are at our workplace, whatever is happening around the world be it in the remotest corner of the world, we get to know about it in a matter of seconds, thanks to the technology we have gifted ourselves with it. I believe that there is a direct relationship between the technology and the jobs. Both of them are interlinked with each other. In fact, I can at least say that both Automation & Artificial Intelligence will increase jobs. I would like to support this with the help of few examples: -
v  We all use the  Artificial Teller Machines' at least once in a while. This ATM is nothing but a machine which is run by artificial intelligence. We type the amount that we wish to withdraw from it, the machine processes our request and we get the said amount as requested by us. This machine is not created by the robots., rather it is created by humans like you and me. Thus it creates a sector of the industry where people are employed only to manufacture these sort of machines. Then we sometimes visit ATM counters only to see that the machine is not functioning as desired and a signboard hangs on the entry door telling the users that the machine is under maintenance. In such a scenario only the technicians can help in resolving such issues. Thus the same ATM which runs on artificial intelligence is providing employment opportunities to the skilled workers like these technicians. These ATM’s has to be refilled from time to time by bank employees. Thus a section of employment is generated whose only job is to refill bank ATM’s across the country. Thus we can conclude that ATMs' instead of being job takers are giving jobs to different strata of the economy.
v  The mobiles, laptops and electronic gadgets that we use are not only manufactured by using artificial intelligence but they are also manufactured and delivered to the customers with the help of human assistance. In the plant where these technical gadgets of high artificial intelligence are being manufactured there are different departments that are specifically created for research & developments, packaging, marketing of the product, manufacturing, financing etc. Thus they are helping in providing job opportunities to the people rather than taking away their jobs.
v  Nowadays companies such as Google or Tesla are manufacturing driverless cars, where these cars will run on artificial intelligence without any chaffier being involved. But for the production of these cars raw materials are required and they supplied from different sectors of the industries like steel, electronics, software, rubber, glass etc.  Thus many people are e getting involved in the production of the raw materials from the different sectors of the industries. Thus instead of increasing unemployment in the industry these newfound technologies are creating employment opportunities for us.
            As the world shift from traditional to digital platform with the help of artificial intelligence, many people are getting employment opportunities and they are helping the world economy to grow at a faster pace. Thus we can conclude that artificial intelligence and automation are job givers rather than job takers.
